The first paragraph is very similar to my own story. Its only through donor parenting that I find it necessary to distinguish father from step-father. I truly know who my dad was. If I had to make it sound different before, I would say my first father and then my second father. My first father wanted me to call my second father "Daddy Al". I just called him what he was, Daddy.
